I’ve used this blog in recent years to share advice and wisdom on things I’ve learned about acquiring and owning land. I’ve met many great people through it, and helped some along their journey. 

What I have never done, however, is ask for help. Yet there are some areas where I have a LOT of interest, but very little knowledge. So it occurred to me, why not ask? Basically, I’m looking for expertise in a few areas. Not a big contractual partnership, just an informed take and an informal conversation. Here are the topics I’m interested in learning more about:

Solar and wind generation:

Nova Scotia is proving to be fairly innovative when it comes to sustainable energy generation. I would like to learn more about land leasing opportunities for renewable power. What conditions are needed? How does one establish a contract? Who to partner with? To be clear here, I’m talking about energy farming on vacant land rather than supplementing power to a residence. Mineral exploration / Mineral Rights

How do I, or anyone for that matter, know if they’re sitting on a massive deposit of rare earth minerals, or diamonds, gold or copper? Are there steps that the average citizen can take to assess mineral values for their land?
